This I’ve Learned

I  WAS THINKING…
about Veteran’s Day which we just celebrated. Can’t you just feel the gratitude these men and woman deserve. It’s probably the one holiday that everyone has the same affection for its importance. Even the children. They get a day off school.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Bowling alleys might be noisy but you can still hear a pin drop.
Whoever put the S in fastfood is a marketing genius.
At my age, rolling out of bed is the easy part. But getting off the floor is a whole different story.
Height of embarrassment:  Two eyes meeting in the same keyhole.

STAINS ON TABLE LINENS AFTER THANKSGIVING DINNER?
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Always check table linens for spots and stains after use so you can treat them as quickly as possible. Soak protein food stains, like eggs, meat and fish in cold water. (Hot or warm will set stains.) If it needs more, try a paste of meat tenderizer and water. Dab it on and let set for 15 to 30 minutes, then wash in cold water.
If you spill cola on your clothing, you can remove by treating it within 24 hours. Apply white vinegar full-strength, then wash as usual.

IS THAT A COMPLIMENT OR AN INSULT
You look much better now in short hair.
Was that dress on sale?
I know, you already told me that.
This is enough.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
People who gossip may feel important because they have a lot to say. But, in truth, it may lead to their own social downfall. Often people feel uncomfortable hearing about others mistakes and would want to avoid being around the gossiper. They may also think, if they gossip about someone else, maybe they would about me. Most of us don’t consider ourselves gossipers, but it might we wise if we make a note to be aware so we don’t fall into that situation. Think about it!
