This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING
about all the boxes of Kleenexes around my house. I realized we didn’t use Kleenexes when I was growing up. But we never left the house without a handkerchief in our pocket. Then they ended up in large basket for Tuesday’s ironing. At that time, I didn’t appreciate those pretty hankies often with delicate lace. A box of handkerchiefs was a popular gift for our school’s Christmas gift exchange. When I’d see a flat square box among the gifts, I prayed it wasn’t for me. I still have a couple lace handkerchiefs, but now they’re special.

WORDS OF WISDOM
(From Life’s Little Treasure Book)
Be kinder than necessary.
Everyone you meet knows something you don’t; learn from them.
Don’t expect money to bring you happiness.
Keep it simple.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN…
you have more doctors than friends.
it’s more fun thinking about what you did than what you’re doing.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
(A repeat in case you missed it before)
Joyce had hay fever. She could never be without a Kleenex. She wore a low- cut cocktail dress to a dinner party. Since the dress didn’t have pockets, she stuffed two Kleenexes in her bosom. She was very discreet when she reached for the first Kleenex. Later, she needed the second. Again, Joyce was discreet in reaching for a Kleenex. She fumbled with both hands when she couldn’t find it. Her face turned red when she looked up and noticed others were watching. “I know I had two when I came,” she blurted.

RECYCLE TISSUE BOXES
Need to create a craft? Go to google for many ideas using a tissue box.
Use to store plastic bags.
Use to hold yarn. Punch hole in the side of square Kleenex box, thread yarn through the hole.
Cut and fit tissue box to organize drawer space.

PUNCH LINES
Never buy a car that has the manual printed in Braille.
Two can live as cheaply as one…if one doesn’t eat.

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
