This I’ve Learned

MY THOUGHTS FOR THIS WEEK
It’s tough out there—for everyone. Perhaps this is a “heads up” time to evaluate our life. Are we who we want to be? Are the grudges we carry keeping us from being happy? What do we need to do to be sure we will spend our eternity in heaven?  Let’s keep faith and learn from this experience.  Often one must go through the darkness to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

KEEP A HAPPY FACE
Once time is gone, it’s gone forever. Don’t waste it.
Smile when your hair doesn’t look good, people will look at your face and not your hair.

HELPFUL HINT FOR CLUB SODA
Add to fruit juice for a healthful and inexpensive beverage.
Pour over rusty nuts and bolts to loosen them.
Clean porcelain fixtures by pouring club soda over them. No soap or rinsing is necessary and won’t mar the finish.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN…
You get up to answer the phone and find out it’s on the TV.
Everyone reminds you of someone you once knew.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Joyce had hay fever.  She could never be without a Kleenex. She wore a low- cut cocktail dress to a dinner party. Since the dress didn’t have pockets, she stuffed two Kleenexes in her bosom. She was very discreet when she reached for the first Kleenex. Later, she needed the second. Again, Joyce was discreet in reaching for a Kleenex.  She fumbled with both hands when she couldn’t find it. Her face turned red when she looked up and noticed others were watching.  “I know I had two when I came,” she blurted.
