This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING
about Father’s Day. Although Daddy has been gone for many years, he’ll never be forgotten. My siblings and myself have always called him Daddy.  He certainly did earn it by having eleven children.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Five-year-old Sara was upset because she thought there was always something under her bed. Her dad solved the problem by cutting off the legs to her bed.

WHAT A MAN REALLY MEANS WHEN HE SAYS
IT WOULD TAKE TO LONG TO EXPLAIN = “I have not idea how it works.”
THAT’S INTERESTING, DEAR = “Are you still talking?”
CAN I HELP WITH DINNER = “Why isn’t it ready yet?”
TAKE BREAK, HONEY, YOU’RE WORKING TOO HARD = “I can’t hear the game over the vacuum cleaner.”

QUICK TRICKS IN THE KITCHEN
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Remove skin from garlic cloves by zapping them in the microwave for about 15 seconds.
Get rid of that fishy smell on your hands by washing them with toothpaste.
Use a cookie sheet to put out a pan fire on your stove.
Substitute honey for sugar when making cookies. They will stay moist longer.
Soak walnuts and pecans in salt water overnight for gentle cracking the next day.
Put a marshmallow on cupcakes and pop in the oven for instant frosting.
