This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the hot topic people are talking about these days-the weather. At least we can escape to air condition. I think back to the days when air-conditioning wasn’t a solution for many of us. And it’s only a matter of months when we’ll wish the heat would come back. I guess it’s a good thing the weather isn’t our choice.

HINTS FOR FURNITURE
(Taken from Mary Elllen’s Helpful Hints)
To polish carved furniture, dip an old soft toothbrush into furniture polish and brush lightly.
Don’t use a knife to scrape paper stuck to wood. Pour salad oil, a few drops at a time, on the paper. Let set for awhile and rub with a soft club. Repeat as needed.
Remove white water rings and spots with a dampened soft cloth with toothpaste. For stubborn stains add baking soda to the toothpaste.
Remove candle wax with a hair dryer and wipe clean with paper towel. Then wash down with a solution of vinegar and water.
To clean a glass table tops rub with lemon juice. Dry with paper towel and shine with newspaper.

SAYING A LOT IN A FEW WORDS.
Be glad God doesn’t give us everything we ask for.
Love heals wounds, not time.
When you’re in love, it shows.
One of the most peaceful feelings is having a child fall asleep in your arms.
It’s the small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Sometimes when we have an upcoming occurrence we agonize and worry about it for days. Usually, when it’s over, the worrying and loss of sleep was worse than what actually happened. Perhaps we should remember this the next time we find ourselves fretting over an upcoming event.  Think about it!
