This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how great it was to finally have a rainy day. I don’t even remember the last time it rained. (Maybe 2 months) My yard just can’t survive without those demanding sprinklers. And I have my water bills to prove it.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE – DEFINITIONS
Chicken: The only animal we eat before they are born and after they are dead.
Dust: Mud with the juice squeezed out.
Secret: Something you tell one person at a time.
Tomorrow: One of the greatest labor-saving devices of today.
Skeleton: A bunch of bones with the person removed.
Mosquito: An insect that makes you like flies better.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
You never know when you’re making a memory.
Making a living is not the same as making a life.
Being angry doesn’t give the right to be cruel.

USE BAKING SODA IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM
(Taken from Country Kitchen Secrets Handbook)
Sprinkle baking soda into the bottom of the laundry hamper to avoid the unpleasant smell.
Add ½ cup baking soda to regular laundry detergent to remove dirt and grease. They will also get them cleaner and brighter.
Pretreat stains by making your own stain remover with ¼ cup baking soda, ¼ cup laundry detergent and ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide.
An open box of baking soda is also great for absorbing odors in the fridge, bathroom and kitchen.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Sometime we are our own worst enemy when we expect too much from ourselves. We fret and agonize when we don’t get the things done as we planned. Perhaps if we realize that we are older and time needed to do something is just not the same.  Think about it!
