This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about recently when I got my car washed. It cost almost twice as much than a several years ago. (What else is new?)
I watched the busy workers hustle, trying to get every detail and then move on to do it all over. I decided they earn their money. At least I didn’t have to wash it myself. Actually, my favorite people are those who do my work for me.

OVERHEARD
I just burned 120 calories. I forgot the pizza was in the oven.
The nice thing about our old car is we double its value when we fill it up with gas.
I’m on a Pasta Diet. I walk pasta donut shop without stopping.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
My granddaughter asked me what it was like to be old.
So I told her to
put cotton in her ears,
pebbles in her shoes,
wear rubber gloves,
smear Vaseline over her glasses,
and there you have it: INSTANT OLD AGE.

LET’S TALK BANANAS
(Taken from Haley’s Hints)
Small brown specks shouldn’t affect the flavor.
They last longer in bunches.
To hurry ripening process, wrap in damp towel and place in a paper bag.
Freeze bananas to make popsicles. It’s a fun treat for children.
It’s said that a banana added to a roast will help tenderize the meat.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
He who receives a good turn should never forget it, and he who
does one should never remember it.

 PUNCH LINES
Those in hot water are not always the cleanest.
A driver is safer when the roads are dry—and vice versa.
