This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the celebrities who recently passed away…Betty White, Sidney Poitie and Bob Saget. Television boldly expressed grief, but there was also a remembrance of the chuckles they gave us. They made a difference and touched the lives of many. This made me realize it’s not only celebrities who make a difference, we all do every time we reach out to someone. It may seem insignificant, like letting a car in or giving a friendly smile or hello, but it meant something to the recipient and it might have made a difference. Perhaps that would be a good new year’s resolution. (I haven’t made any yet). Maybe it’s a phone call, thank you note or just being mindful of how to help others. Okay, I now have a resolution.

OVERHEARD AT THE SENIOR CENTER
I laughed so hard the tears ran down my leg.
He might be old but he still does dumb stuff, only slower.
I’d rather be old than dead.

VINEGAR TO THE RESCUE
Not so fast. I have a new book called “The Vinegar Book”.  It has helpful hints on the use of vinegar. BUT I want to first tell you where you should NOT use vinegar.
*Granite and Marble
*Hardwood Floors
*Phone and Computers
*Stone Floors
*Greasy Messes
*Spilled Eggs
*Cars
Stay tuned in weeks to come for the great hints from “The Vinegar Book.”

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you’ve forgotten the words.
