This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how lovely it is this time of the year. The brown California hills are once again a blanket of green.
There are flowers in almost every yard and they seem to be even more beautiful this year. Perhaps I’ve learned to notice and appreciate the flowers more because of the negative things going on in the world.
They remind me to be thankful for the troubles I don’t have.

DID YOU KNOW?
(

Coco-Cola was originally green.
It is impossible to lick your elbow.
Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.
The only food that doesn’t spoil is honey.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
(Silly Jokes to share with the children)
Why is everyone so tired on April 1st?
Because they just finished a long 31-day long March.
Why did the farmer bury his money?
To make his soil rich.
What did the dirt say to the rain?
If this keeps up, my name will be mud.
What falls but never gets hurt?
The rain.

SECRETS FOR PLANT CARE
(
Taken from Easy Does It)
A neater way to water plants is to toss a few ice cubes on top of the soil.
Serve flat club soda to your plants. They thrive on the chemicals it contains.
Going on vacation and need to water plants?
Run a cotton rope or strands of yarn from a large container of water to the soil around the plant. The water will move by capillary action, providing a steady drink.
