This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about my recent tour of Yellowstone Park and Mount Rushmore. What a treat!
The views, water falls, mountains and trees that reached to the sky were spectacular. I felt like I was seeing them through my heart instead of my eyes. I am reminded of Mother Nature’s beauty that surround me, right here, every day. I don’t want to miss sunsets and sunrises, mountains, blue sky dotted with clouds, flowers, playful little animals and the list goes on.
It reminds me of what William Shakespeare said, “The earth has music for those who listen.”

QUOTES TO APPRECIATE MOTHER NATURE
“Moments of solitude with Mother Nature is sunshine to a soul.” — Anthony Williams
“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees” – Henry Thoreau.
“In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.”  -Alice Walker.
“Gray skies are just clouds passing over.” -Duke Ellington.
“Listen to the murmur of water and you’ll hear Mother Nature.”-Donald L. Hicks.
“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.” -Henri Matisse.
“Land really is the best art.”  -Andy Warhol.

GO AFTER THOSE ANTS
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Assault their home before they get to yours. If you see an ant hole, pour ammonia in it, they won’t have a chance.
Set a spicy trap for black ants. Shake red pepper or curry powder at the point of their entry.
Peppermint stinks to an ant. Squirt peppermint flavoring or put peppermint tea bags where ants may enter the house.
Did you know ants won’t craw through flour or baby powder?
Ant-proof cupboards and windowsills by putting bay leaves or whole cloves in the corners. These long-lasting spices will foil any ant invasions.

WORDS OF WISDOM
(Taken from Life’s Little Treasure Book on Wisdom)
Don’t say no until you’ve heard the whole story.
Truth is serious business when criticizing others, remember that a little goes a long way.
Don’t let weeds grow around your dreams.
