I WAS THINKING…
about my special week in Illinois for our annual family reunion. I got to check out how much the children have grown and who has the most wrinkles and gray hair. But best of all we got to be together again.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE—HOW TO STAY YOUNG
Keep learning. Never let the brain get idle.
Laugh often. If you have friends that make you laugh. Spend more time with them.
Endure, grieve and move on.
Surround yourself with what you love. (Family, music, plants keepsakes, pets, etc.)
Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall or a vacation.
Tell the people you love that you love them.
Forgive now those who make you cry. You might not get a second chance.

QUICK HINTS
(Taken from Betty-Anne’s Helpful Household Hints)
Wax your dustpans and watch the dirt slide right off.
Golf balls can be cleaned easily. Soak them overnight in a “heavy” solution of ammonia and hot water. No scrubbing needed.
A sponge makes a great soap dish—and it’s washable.
Use a piece of spaghetti to light a candle.
Chop sticks make great plant stakes.
THIS I’VE LEARNED
It’s only natural that we sometimes feel unhappy and depressed. But we need to make sure we don’t “stay there”. Even when others are there for us, we must be responsible for moving forward to be happier. It helps when we dwell on the many positive things in our life.
