This I’ve Learned

Blog Aug. 1, 2022

I WAS THINKING
about pictures I was recently looking at that were taken several year ago. I realized I am still wearing some of my favorite clothes that I had on in the pictures. It certainly isn’t because my closet doesn’t have more and newer clothes. I guess wearing favorite clothes is a ‘feel good’ thing.  Actually, I have lots of favorite things. If I could sing like Julie Andrews did in the Sound of Music, I would be singing.

WORDS OF WISDOM
Wise people are not always silent, but know when to be.
Never take advice from people who aren’t doing it themselves.
Life is too short to worry about what people say or think about you. So, enjoy life, have fun, and give them something to talk about.
Nothing is ever too small a thing to do when it is done for someone else.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
An elderly man was spotted driving erratically down the street at two in the morning.
He was stopped by a policeman.
“Where are you going this late?”, he asked.
“I’m on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the effects it has on the human body, as well as smoking and staying out late”, the man replied.
“Really, who’s giving that lecture at this time of night?”
“That would be my wife”.

HINTS TO SCARE OFF MICE
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Mice can’t stand the smell of peppermint and won’t go near areas that smell like peppermint.
Baking Soda will also deter mouse. Sprinkle around areas where mice may be tempted to come. An added bonus is easy cleanup. Just vacuum.
Put mothballs along the walls of garage or attic to discourage mice. (Spiders too)

PUNCH LINES
You’re only young once, but you can be immature all your life.
A has-been is better than a never-was.
