This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how so many mourned the passing of Vin Scully. He touched lives by just being himself. He didn’t have to run for office or be an actor to become famous. The joy he felt when broadcasting spilled to everyone who listened. Nationality, politics. religion, rich or poor didn’t matter when they were lost together in Vin Scully’s world. VERY NICE!

TAKE CARE OF YOUR BACK
(Taken from the book: Care of the Back)
It’s best to place a pillow under knees when lying flat on your back.
It’s okay to lie on side, but don’t let your face rest on the arm.
A high pillow under the neck may result in pain in neck, shoulder and arms.
Never lean forward without bending the knees.
Never lift anything above the level of the elbows.
Sleeping on your stomach is a frequent cause of back and neck pain.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
When Harriet Johnson turned 100, she was the pride of Queenstown, Ohio. Her picture graced the front page of the Queenstown Gazette. She wore her blue dress with the lace collar for a television interview.
“You certainly are an amazing example to all the people here in Queenstown,” Frank said when he interviewed her. “I need to ask you. How can we live to be 100?”
“That’s a no brainer,” she said throwing up her hands. “Just keep breathing.”

LET’S TALK ABOUT DOORS
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Squeaky Door? Grab the cooking spray or even shaving cream—it should work.
Trouble opening a lock? Rub edges of key with a soft lead pencil. The graphite in the lead will soon have it moving smoothly.
Cabinet door won’t stay shut? Glue magnetic tape to the inside edge of door. And glue another to the spot where it first touches the cabinet. It should stay shut for you.
